Children and youth will certainly enjoy the numerous FREE activities planned during the 2017 Arts & Crafts Fair.

Dominion Science Center (Friday 10am-8pm/Saturday 10am-5pm) – A hands-on science museum full of fun and educational experiments and demonstrations.

Arts & Crafts Activities (Friday 10am-1pm/Saturday 10am-1pm) – Free children’s arts and craft projects to engage children in creating their own art! Planned projects include: paper flowers & vases, framed dot art, bug masks, 3D sunflower decorations, insect sand art, paper bag butterflies, love bug hats, wind chimes.

Youth Kayaking Experience (Friday 10am-8pm/Saturday 10am-3pm) –Youth, ages 10-14, can participate in a kayaking experience in Spring Creek, offered by the Mach One Kayak Team.

Face Painting – Madison Mock will be offering fee-based face painting in the Mock Creations booth.

Bellefonte EMS Ambulance & Fire Fighter Displays – Area emergency responders will show off their equipment, provide demonstrations and answer questions.

jeremy-herbstrittThe 10th Annual Herbie’s Home “Town Loop” 4-mile run/walk and 10-mile run is an event to honor Jeremy Herbstritt, a Bellefonte native killed in the 2007 Virginia Tech shootings.  Funds raised will be used for community support.  Additional information is available at thejeremyherbstrittfoundation.com/.

Seeking Volunteers

Aug. 2014 40D 118The Fair Committee is in need of volunteers to help before, during and after this year’s Fair. This is a FUN way to help support the Bellefonte Arts & Crafts Fair and build some lasting friendships. We will take a few hours or a whole day. if you can volunteer we will find a spot for you!

Some of our needs include:
– Ambassadors – hand out refreshments to artists and/or watch their booths when they need a break
– Information Booth – hand out maps & brochures, provide information about the Fair, sell Fair items
– Parking – manage a parking area/direct people to parking
– Bridge – give a hand to people with strollers, canes, etc., who are using the walking bridge
– Silent Auction – maintain the area and check on items
– Setup and Tear Down – tables, chairs, small tents, signage – before and after the Fair

If you or your group would like to enjoy some FUN at the Bellefonte Arts & Crafts Fair, please contact us.

Non-profit volunteer groups could also have a space at the Fair to promote their groups, possible free of charge.

Youth Artists Apps Available

Entry Requirements and Eligibility:
1. Youth artists must be 8-17 years of age.
2. Artists must design and make all work. Only items described on the entry materials or shown in the submitted photographs may be displayed.
3. Artists must personally attend to their booths and must be present on August 15, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Representatives, including family members, may not attend in place of the artist. The fair is held rain or shine.
4. Artists may not use their booths to display samples of items to be delivered, sell raffles or games with prizes, or use licensed,trademarked or
copyrighted characters.
5. Only one artist is permitted per booth unless the artists work on the same body of work.
6. Entry fee is $5.00.
